Half of the women surveyed say that money is important both for closing pension gaps and for providing security, should they or a loved one ever fall ill or require care.

Women indeed face certain challenges when it comes to retirement planning. These include, for example, lower contributions to the AHV and pension fund due to a greater tendency to work part-time or take career breaks. As a result, pensions and the potential standard of living in retirement are on average significantly lower for women than for men. Women consider it their responsibility to share the wealth they have earned in order to benefit society. 50% of the women surveyed say it is important to use their assets to support those close to them, such as in the form of an inheritance. 43% say they also donate to non-profit organizations.

The study also shows that two in three women are worried about the effects of climate change. This concern is also reflected in women’s approach to investing; one in three women has sustainable investments in her portfolio.
